Bennu

Bennu is a solar avian Deity often recorded as a heron-like bird of gold and ash, a presence more felt than confined. In the field, its plumage reads like burnished reeds—glints of copper and pale blue—catching the first light of dawn. Smell: a sharp, clean note of ozone mixed with warm, dry reed and faint incense, as if someone had just lifted a censer near a bonfire. Sound: a thin, bell-like call at daybreak, long and resonant, followed by the soft rustle of feathers over water. Temperature: the air around it feels warmer, like the slow rise of the sun over river mud—comforting, dry, and quietly insistent.
