Cadair Idris

Cadair Idris is a mountain-spirit wrapped in peat and cloud, a Fae-seat more than a person — the old chair of the giant Idris made manifest in rock and mist. Smell: damp heather, cold peat, and a faint metallic tang of old rain on stone. Sound: wind singing through clefts like whispered syllables, the distant cry of ravens and the soft, uncanny hush that falls when the ridge takes interest. Temperature: a precise, penetrating chill — not merely cold but sharpened, as if the air itself were remembering an ancient breath. In field notes I record a sense of attention: shadows gather in a chair-shaped hollow, and small noises seem to bend toward the cairns as though the mountain listens.
