Draugr

Draugr is a hostile Revenant rooted in burial ground and shoreline lore. It carries the chill of long-buried earth: the air around it smells faintly of salt, peat, and old iron; its approach is heralded by a low, resonant creak—like timber under frost—and the temperature drops sharply where it moves, leaving a thin, biting cold on the skin. In the field, note its deliberate, heavy step, the way fog clings and sea spray beads on rusted chain, and how disturbed turf or rearranged stones betray its presence.
