Shahmaran

Shahmaran is a serpent-queen deity: elegant, vast coils of scaled hide that give way to a human torso and a calm, knowing face. Field notes record her presence as a cool, shaded microclimate — temperature like a grotto after rain — with the clean, herbaceous scent of jasmine and crushed pomegranate layered over mineral dampness. Sound is minimal and intimate: a low, sibilant exhalation, the soft rustle of scales, and sometimes the distant, steady hum of bees or dripping water. Visually her scales catch light in a green-amber sheen; her eyes are steady and patient, the impression of long memory more than sudden motion.
