Sigbin

Sigbin is a Cryptid recorded in multiple Philippine field accounts as a low-slung, nocturnal mammal-like predator. Field Naturalist notes describe a compact, muscular body with powerful hind quarters for sudden bounds, long pendulous ears that swivel independently, and an odd, awkward gait that can appear backward when it slips between shadows. Smell: a sour, damp-ferment tang—like wet earth and vinegar—with a faint metallic undercurrent. Sound: soft, irregular thuds of small hooves or padded feet, a thin mournful whine, and an occasional rapid clicking or flapping from the ears. Temperature: warm and corporeal, radiating the steady heat of a living mammal rather than the chill of a spirit. Observers emphasize its preference for the cool underfloor spaces of stilt houses and shadowed eaves, where it moves with surprising stealth despite its stocky frame.
