Uktena is a Cryptid (Horned Serpent) most often pictured as a titanic, horned river-serpent with armor-like, iridescent scales and a single crystalline protuberance on its brow. Field-naturalist impression: wholly corporeal and hot to the touch in mythic terms — a muscular, sinuous mass that seems to radiate river-warmth. Smell: a metallic tang of copper and wet stone, with an ozone edge as if lightning passed through water.
