Yee Naaldlooshii is a hostile spirit tied to famine and the deepest cold, often described in old accounts as a gaunt, hunger-driven presence that haunts snowbound places and lonely trails. In the field it announces itself through temperature first: a sudden, bone-deep drop in warmth as if heat is being drawn from the air. Smell: a metallic, iron-tinged tang carried on a dry winter wind, with undertones of stale earth and frozen breath. Sound: distant, hollow rasping like wind through empty wood, occasional scratching at stone or bark, and an uncanny mimicry of human cries that can lure the unwary.
