The Aswang prowled the Philippine village, disguised as a woman, before detaching its torso to hunt. Viscera-Detach Flight. Trailing its wet, glistening internal organs, it flew toward a thatched roof, listening for the breath of a sleeper.
High in the thunderhead above, Anzu, the massive Lion-Headed Eagle of Mesopotamia, was patrolling. He held the Tablet of Destinies in one talon, but his stomach grumbled.
He spotted the flying viscera below.
"A worm that flies?" Anzu screeched.
The Aswang looked up, its bloodshot eyes widening. It saw a storm descending with a beak.
The vampire tried to flee, darting into the bamboo.
Anzu didn't chase. He just flapped. Wings of the Storm.
A single, concentrated bolt of lightning was generated by his feathers. It struck the Aswang's exposed heart and stomach with the force of a divine smite. The vampire was instantly fried. Anzu swooped down, caught the crispy remains of the upper torso in mid-air, and swallowed it whole. "Greasy," he noted, and flew back to the mountains.
