Black Shuck stood at the crossroads, a massive hound of smoke and fire. He had killed a gravedigger just for sport. Phantasmal Pursuit. He felt powerful.
Then the sky darkened, not with clouds, but with wings.
Three figures descended. They wore black robes, their hair was a nest of writhing vipers, and their eyes wept thick, clotting blood. The Erinyes. The Furies.
Black Shuck bared his teeth and unleashed his Harbinger Howl. It was a sound that stopped human hearts.
The Furies didn't blink. They had heard the screams of Titans.
"You spill blood without sanction," Tisiphone hissed. Curse of Remorse.
The Hound Hunted
Black Shuck lunged, hoping to tear a throat. His jaws snapped on empty air as the sisters scattered.
Serpentine Lash.
Megaera cracked her whip. It wasn't leather; it was a live snake. It wrapped around Shuck’s neck, burning his spectral fur.
Alecto dove from above, brandishing a torch of funeral cypress. "Back to the pit!"
They swarmed him, a whirlwind of claws and snakes. Black Shuck, the hunter, was now the prey. They didn't kill him; they broke him. Bound in unbreakable chains of red-hot copper, the whimpering hellhound was dragged down through the earth to the Underworld, where he would learn the true meaning of punishment.
