The Diwata drifted from the treeline, a cloud of orchid scent and mist. Mistveil Enchantment. She sought to reclaim the road for the forest. "The trees have no masters," she whispered.
Chimata-no-Kami stood at the crossroads. He looked like an old traveler, leaning on a staff.
"But this," he said, tapping the stone marker, "is a Road."
The Boundary
The Diwata tried to lure him off the path with Glamour of the Maidens.
Chimata-no-Kami did not step off the road. He activated Crossroads Knot. The path twisted.
Every time the forest spirit tried to encroach on the road, she found herself walking back into the woods. The road rejected the wild. The boundary held.
Vow Keeper's Claim. "You may keep the trees," the Kami said. "But the intersection is mine."
The Diwata, unable to navigate the conceptual labyrinth of the God of Paths, faded back into the green, ceding the right of way.
