The Djinn swirled out of a gap in the ruins, a column of smokeless fire. "I grant you a wish, Golden One," it hissed. Threefold Wish Pact. "Power? Glory? A sword to replace the one you lost?"
Freyr stood in the center of the blighted field. He didn't look at the spirit. He looked at the withered corn.
"I wish," Freyr said calmly, "for you to vanish."
The Noon Sun
The Djinn laughed. "You must be specific! 'Vanish' could mean death, or teleportation, or—"
Freyr raised his hand. Summer's Bounty.
The sun above flared with the intensity of midsummer noon. The light wasn't just bright; it was heavy. It pressed down on the desert spirit.
Gullinbursti, the golden boar, charged. Gullinbursti's Radiant Charge. The boar was a comet of bristles and muscle.
The Djinn tried to use Smokeform to dodge, but the intense heat burned the air he needed to move. The boar struck the spirit, dispersing the smokeless fire into nothingness.
"Granted," Freyr said to the empty air. The corn began to grow green again.
