The Dragon sat atop the Great Pyramid, claiming it as a new pedestal for its hoard. It was a magnificent beast of crimson scales and bat wings, smoke curling from its nostrils. Hoardward Curse.
High above, a speck in the blinding noon sun, Horus watched.
He was the Falcon God, the rightful ruler of these sands. He did not tolerate squatters.
"You are sitting on my grandfather," Horus whispered. The wind carried his voice like a decree.
Fire vs The Sun
The Dragon looked up and roared. Worldforging Breath.
A column of fire erupted, aiming to scorch the sky itself. The heat was intense enough to melt stone, turning the capstone of the pyramid glowing red.
Horus didn't flap. He tucked his wings.
Behdety Solar Dive.
He dropped from the zenith. He gathered the light of the sun around him until he was no longer a bird, but a missile of pure solar energy.
The Dragon tried to bank, to present its armored back to the threat. Scale-Forge Armour. It was fast, for a reptile.
But Horus was light.
He was faster. He adjusted his trajectory mid-dive, slipping past the flame and the claws. He aimed for the one spot where the scales were soft: the throat.
Horus slammed into the Dragon with the force of a meteor. His talons, sharper than obsidian, tore through the unscaled flesh.
The Dragon shrieked, its fire choking in its throat. It tumbled down the side of the pyramid, crashing into the sand in a cloud of dust and defeat.
Horus landed on the Sphinx, preening his feathers. The Dragon limped away towards the cooler, darker caves of the west.
