The plains of the afterlife were misty and grey. El Silbón, the Whistling Man, shambled through the fog. He was a tall, skeletal figure carrying a bag of his father's bones. He whistled the notes of C-D-E-F-G-A-B. Reverse-Distance Whistle. If it sounded close, he was far. If it sounded far, you were already dead.
Huangdi, the Yellow Emperor, stood in his chariot. He was the inventor of civilization, the patron of order. He checked his instruments.
"The acoustics are distorted," Huangdi noted. "A chaotic frequency."
The Compass
El Silbón circled. The whistle sounded miles away. Then, suddenly, the sack of bones swung out of the mist, aimed at the Emperor’s head. Sack-of-Bones Lash.
Huangdi didn't duck. The blow passed through a shield of golden light.
"Deception is inefficient," Huangdi stated.
He pointed to the figure on his chariot. South-Pointing Guidance. The mechanical finger swung around, pointing directly at a patch of empty fog to the left.
"target location confirmed."
The Dragon of Order
Huangdi raised his sword. Meridian Weave.
He drew a line in the air. The mist cleared. El Silbón stood revealed, cowering in the sudden clarity.
Yellow Dragon Manifestation.
The earth rumbled. A massive dragon made of golden energy erupted from the ground. It didn't breathe fire; it breathed geometry. It wrapped around the ghost, constricting the chaotic spirit with the crushing weight of Law.
El Silbón shrieked, his whistle turning into a static screech. The dragon tightened. The bag of bones burst. The ghost was dismantled, his energy re-routed into the ley lines of the earth to serve a useful purpose.
"The path is cleared," Huangdi announced, and his chariot rolled on.
