The Horned Serpent coiled in the Shannon River, its diamond crest glowing with Cranial Jewel Pulse. It sought to corrupt the waters and claim the land.
Ériu walked the banks. She wore a cloak the color of heather and moss. The ground firmed under her feet.
"You are a guest," she said. "And you have overstayed."
The Eviction
The Serpent hissed, summoning a flash flood. River Sovereignty. The water rose, threatening to drown the fields.
Ériu placed her hand on a boundary stone. Land-Binding Sovereignty.
"I deny you," she spoke.
The earth listened. The river banks shifted. The soil drank the floodwater in seconds. The mud hardened into stone, trapping the Serpent's coils.
Ériu used Bounty of Erin to grow thick roots that bound the monster's jaws shut.
"This island has a name," she whispered, leaning close to the trapped beast. "And it is mine."
The Horned Serpent was forced to retreat, slithering back into the deep earth, evicted by the Queen of the Land.
