The Gorgon slithered through the necropolis of Thebes. Her hair was a nest of writhing, venomous vipers. Living Serpents. She was hunting for trespassers to turn to stone, hoping to add to her garden of statues. Shadows clung to her.
Then the night vanished.
It wasn't dawn. It was Ra. The Sun God descended in his golden solar barque, radiating a light so intense it bleached the color from the stones.
"A shadow crawls in my city," Ra intoned, his voice like burning kindling.
The Gorgon hissed, shielding her eyes. She tried to meet his gaze. Petrifying Gaze.
The Blinding Truth
"Look at me!" she shrieked.
Ra turned. He did not blink. He was the source of all sight.
Eye of Ra — Scorching Retribution.
A beam of concentrated divine fire struck the monster. It wasn't a fight; it was an erasure. The Gorgon’s eyes boiled instantly. Her snakes shriveled into ash. The curse of stone was pathetic against a being of pure nuclear fusion. She didn't turn to stone; she turned to smoke, incinerated entirely before she could even register the heat. Ra continued his journey across the sky, leaving only a scorch mark on the sand.
