The Sigbin, a grotesque creature resembling a hornless goat with ears like palm leaves, scuttled backward under the tall stilts of the wooden house. Under-House Blood-Siphon. It was hunting for shadows to eat, or perhaps the blood of the sleeper above. It released its Stench Cloak, a foul musk designed to nauseate predators.
High in the banana trees, the Langsuyar watched. The Malaysian vampire, beautiful and terrible in her green robes and owl wings, was unbothered by the smell. She was dead, after all.
Banana-Tree Beacon. She saw the shadow moving below.
Death from the Canopy
The Sigbin thought it was invisible in the dark. It prepared to siphon the essence of the house's owner.
The Langsuyar didn't dive; she drifted. She fell like a silk scarf, silent and deadly. Neonatal Suckle was her preference, but fresh blood was fresh blood.
She landed squarely on the Sigbin's back. The creature squealed, kicking out its strange, backward-jointed legs. It tried to bite her with its venomous teeth, but her long, razor-sharp nails were already at its throat.
Beguiling Shroud.
She wrapped her wings around the beast, suffocating its struggles. She sank her fangs into its neck. The Sigbin, a creature of shadows, found itself drained by a creature of the night. The Langsuyar left the desiccated husk under the house and flew back to her tree before the rooster crowed.
