Pele stood on the shore, hair flaming. She struck the ground with her digging stick. Island-Birthing Eruption.
Magma exploded from the seabed, sizzling and steaming, trying to form a new reef.
Leviathan rose from the deep, a coil of scales that blocked the horizon.
"Too hot," the beast roared, its voice the sound of crushing hulls.
The Quench
Leviathan didn't attack Pele; it attacked her element. Primordial Maelstrom.
The sea swirled into a vortex. It wasn't just water; it was the heavy, crushing pressure of the abyss. Abyssal Silence.
The ocean crashed over the new lava flow. Steam exploded, blinding and hot, but the water kept coming. The sheer volume of the Pacific Ocean outweighed the output of the vent.
Pele threw Pele's Hair Barrage, glass needles raining on the beast's scales. The Razor-Scale Reek of Leviathan deflected them easily.
Leviathan opened its maw and swallowed the eruption plume. The water rushed in, cooling the magma to dead, black stone in seconds.
Pele retreated to her crater, furious. Use fire against the ocean? It was a losing battle.
