The Nuckelavee galloped onto the beach, skinless and raw, breathing Blight Breath onto the palm trees. Everything it touched turned gray.
Mami Wata rose from the surf. She was beautiful, terrible, and draped in snakes. She held a mirror.
"You are ugly," she said calmly. "And you are making a mess."
The Reflection
The Nuckelavee roared, charging with Unholy Fusion. It wanted to trample her into the sand.
Mami Wata held up her Mirror of Longing.
The Nuckelavee looked. It saw not its own skinless face, but the ocean it hated yet came from. It hesitated.
Mami Wata summoned the Serpentine Embrace. Giant water snakes formed from the waves, wrapping around the demon's legs.
"Wash," she commanded.
The tide rose, not violent, but heavy. It pulled the Nuckelavee under. The salt stung its raw muscles. The blight was diluted by the vastness of Mami Wata's domain.
She smoothed the water's surface, leaving no trace of the monster.
