The sky was already broken when they met. Nüwa was busy melting five-colored stones to patch a hole in the ozone. She was a builder, a mother, a serpent of peace.
Set saw the hole in the sky and thought, I can make that bigger.
The God of Storms roared, transforming into the Set-Animal—a beast of impossible angles and squared ears. He summoned a Desert Maelstrom, blasting sand and lightning at the goddess.
"Why build?" Set howled. "The dust is cleaner."
Creation vs Destruction
Nüwa didn't flinch. She used Heaven-Stitch, fusing the stones into a shield. The sandstorm battered against it, eroding the gems.
She slapped the ground with her tail, using Clay-Spirit Imbuement to raise an army of mud-soldiers to hold the god back.
Set didn't fight the soldiers; he dissolved them. His wind dried the mud back to dust.
He leaped, bypassing her defenses. He didn't aim for the shield; he aimed for the creator.
Dismember and Scatter.
He struck Nüwa with a khopesh made of storms. It was a blow designed to sever sovereignty.
Nüwa cried out, her serpent form coiling in pain. She tried to knit her own wounds, but Set's chaos was anti-magic. It festered.
Realizing she could not repair the world while fighting its destroyer, Nüwa retreated into the pillars of heaven, fusing herself with the stone to hold the sky up, out of Set's reach.
Set stood victorious on the scorched earth. He had won the fight, but he had to live in the ruin he made.
