The Zombie stumbled along the rocky shores of Okanagan Lake. Graveborn Persistence. It was mindless, driven only by a gnawing, impossible hunger. It walked with a wet, shuffling gait, trailing pieces of grave-soil. It saw movement in the dark water. Flesh?
It waded in, arms outstretched, moaning softly. Rotting Grasp.
Ogopogo, the fifty-foot lake serpent known to the First Nations as Naitaka, surfaced. It blinked its large, dark, intelligent eyes. It saw a small, smelly morsel entering its dining room.
The Zombie groaned, water sloshing in its non-functional lungs. It reached for the serpent's scales.
Ogopogo didn't hesitate. Tolling Surge.
It unhinged its jaw, creating a vacuum in the water. It lunged. There was no fight. The serpent swallowed the walking corpse in a single, efficient gulp. It paused, tasting the decay. It spat out a combat boot. Then, looking slightly nauseous from the spoiled meat, Ogopogo dove back to the deep, cool water to find a nice, fresh sturgeon to wash the terrible taste away.
