Battle Chronicle & Lore Analysis

Yama sat on his buffalo, holding the staff of justice. He looked at the docket. "Defendant: Typhon. Crimes: Destruction of property, noise violation, assaulting Olympus."

Typhon roared. It was a sound that cracked the foundation of the courthouse. The monster was a hurricane of vipers and fire, taller than the Himalayas.

"Order in the court!" Yama commanded, slamming his Danda of Staff.

The earth shook, momentarily holding Typhon’s feet (or snake-coils) in place.

The Trial

Yama threw the Pasha of Binding. The divine noose flew true, wrapping around one of Typhon’s main necks.

"You are sentenced to Naraka," Yama declared.

Typhon looked at the rope. He had ninety-nine other heads.

They all laughed.

"I object," Typhon hissed.

Hundred-Headed Cataclysm. Fifty heads breathed fire; fifty breathed poison. The courtroom—a sacred space of judgment—was instantly engulfed in a storm of magma and venom.

Yama’s buffalo panicked, bucking the death lord off. Yama raised a shield of karma, but the physical force of the blast sent him flying backward through the walls of the afterlife.

Mistrial

The Pasha snapped. Typhon tore free from the earth, smashing the Scale of Karma with a sweep of his tail.

Yama stood from the rubble, dusting off his robes. He looked at the rampaging monster, which was now eating the jury (a group of terrified pretas).

"Jurisdiction error," Yama muttered, opening a portal to retreat. "This is a matter for the Weather Department."
