Yee Naaldlooshii prowled the ridge, bringing the freezing cold of the Winter Hunger. It wore the face of a neighbor, crying for help. Luring Voice.
Baiame descended from the Milky Way. He did not look like a man; he looked like the Law itself.
"That is not your face," Baiame boomed.
The Law
Yee Naaldlooshii snarled, trying to Skinshift into a wolf to escape.
Baiame pointed a finger. Law-Weaving.
"By the tracks of the ancestors, I forbid the change."
The spirit's skin rippled, stuck halfway between man and wolf. It screamed in pain. The magic of the stolen hide fought against the magic of the Sky Father.
Baiame slammed his staff into the earth. Landscape-Shaping.
The rock enclosed the spirit. A bora ring of stone rose up, trapping the creature.
"You have broken the order," Baiame pronounced. "You are now stone."
The spirit froze, calcifying into a twisted rock formation, a warning to all who would break the natural law.
