Palraiyuk

Palraiyuk is a Cryptid/Beast of the reed flats and slow rivers — low-slung and muscular, about the size of a large fox with a thick, water-shedding pelt banded by faint bioluminescent fringes along its spine and tail. Smell: the air of its passage carries brackish clay, crushed reed, and a faint mineral sweetness. Sound: its presence is first signalled by a soft reed-like trill and intermittent wet clicks, like a comb run across hollow cane. Temperature: despite the marsh's chill, the creature itself radiates a steady, humid warmth; the damp air around its trail feels warmer than the surrounding bog. An observational field note: look for elongated, webbed pawprints with a faint phosphorescent rinse and neat rows of crushed reeds laid in a spiral — a subtle working of the landscape rather than random damage.
