Mannegishi

Mannegishi is a Trickster fae recorded in Cree oral tradition — small, wiry humanoids often encountered along rocky shorelines and shallow shoals. In field notes they appear quick and deliberate, with smooth, almost stone-like skin and long, dexterous fingers that move like ripples across water. Smell: a cool, mineral scent of wet stone and river-moss. Sound: a dry, high chitter like pebbles clicking together, sometimes punctuated by breathy mimicry of human voices. Temperature: the air near them takes on a faint, damp coolness, as if fog has pooled at ankle level.
