Viracocha

Viracocha is a Deity of creation and distant stewardship in Andean tradition, perceived more as a sweeping pattern in the world than a single visible form. Smell: the cool, mineral scent of rain on stone and the sweet smoke of roasted maize at a shrine. Sound: a sudden hush followed by a distant, plaintive flute and the low rumble of mountain thunder as if the land itself speaks. Temperature: an uncanny blend — the crisp, biting air of high plateaus wrapped around a slow, warming glow that settles on your bones. Field note: presence is atmospheric and slow, like weather changing its mind; one experiences Viracocha as order returned to a landscape, not a being rushing past.
